Flagship Program of Restoration Impact Africa. Transforming Degraded Lands into Engines of Prosperity
Africa Hemp Mines Restoration Impact (AHMRI) is the flagship initiative and primary implementation platform of Restoration Impact Africa (RIA), dedicated to restoring degraded lands, rehabilitating mining-impacted ecosystems, advancing industrial hemp and sustainable fibre crop industries, and creating regenerative economic opportunities across Africa.
AHMRI was established on the belief that restoration should not be viewed solely as an environmental obligation but as a powerful catalyst for economic growth, industrial development, climate resilience, and community prosperity. The platform leverages industrial hemp, kenaf, and other sustainable fibre crops as strategic tools for ecosystem recovery, soil regeneration, carbon sequestration, rural industrialization, and green manufacturing.
As the Lead African Implementing Institution and Sovereign Integration Authority within its international consortium, AHMRI coordinates partnerships between governments, communities, investors, research institutions, and technology providers to develop scalable restoration models that deliver measurable environmental, social, and economic impact.
AHMRI’s integrated approach combines restoration science, regenerative agriculture, climate finance, carbon markets, environmental technologies, industrial processing, and community participation into a unified development framework. This approach enables degraded and underutilized lands to be transformed into productive landscapes capable of supporting agriculture, manufacturing, research, training, and sustainable enterprise development.
Working alongside its international consortium partners—Earth Rights Institute (ERI), Ion Change Global Solutions Group (ICGSG), CCR Technologies, and Hemp Incubator Company (HIC), PBC—AHMRI is building a new model for restoration-led development that aligns environmental recovery with economic transformation.
To become Africa’s leading platform for restoration-driven industrial development, transforming degraded landscapes into sustainable engines of environmental recovery, economic growth, and community prosperity.
To restore ecosystems, rehabilitate degraded lands, develop sustainable fibre crop industries, and create inclusive green economies through innovation, partnerships, and community-centered implementation.
